Serie A Week 38 - 13 May 2012 (17.00 UK)
Parma 1 - 0 Bologna
Biabiany 37 (P)
Stadio Ennio Tardini

Parma finished off the season by winning the Emilia-Romagna derby thanks to a Jonathan Biabiany strike, setting a new club record with seven straight wins.

Both sides were comfortably mid-table going into the final game of the season, which was a local derby. It also represented Marco Di Vaio’s last Serie A match and he experienced it in one of his old stadiums. Archimede Morleo was suspended with Henry Gimenez, Jean-Francois Gillet, Rene Krhin, Diego Perez and Gaby Mudingayi injured. Parma missed Antonio Mirante, MacDonald Mariga and Francesco Modesto.

Sergio Floccari just failed to get on the end of a Jaime Valdes cross, while Cristian Zaccardo risked giving away a penalty for his handling offence on a Panagiotis Kone effort.

Zaccardo didn’t manage to get the final touch to a deflected Sebastian Giovinco effort, but Federico Agliardi had his palms stung by an Alessandro Lucarelli volley.

Parma broke the deadlock just before half-time when Jonathan Biabiany turned in a Giovinco corner kick.

After the restart Lucarelli’s finish was deflected just past the post and Agliardi flew to palm a Giovinco free kick off the line.

Agliardi also denied Floccari and a Biabiany screamer set up by Francesco Valiani. Alessandro Diamanti’s free kick hit the wall and nobody was able to get the final touch as it ricocheted around the box.
