The future of Stefano Pioli is still shrouded in doubt as the coach divides opinion at Milan ahead of the decisive Europa League clash with Roma.

The Rossoneri have been in a tense spot since their defeat to Daniele De Rossi’s side in the first leg of their European quarter-final clash last week. The result proved painfully disappointing to fans, further increasing the pressure on the Italian tactician.

With only a few months until the summer, there are still no guarantees surrounding Pioli and multiple reports have suggested that his future with Milan entirely depends on the result of the Europa League quarter-final tie with Roma.

Pioli divide

Page eight of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport underlines how Pioli still divides the Milan management ahead of the summer, with some continuing to back the coach and hoping the Europa League can provide confirmation for his future, whilst others believe a change may be needed.

Much depends on how things go against Roma in the second leg of the quarter-finals, especially because winning the trophy would bring in around €30m in revenues, something that would be key ahead of the summer transfer window.
