Wesley Sneijder has emphatically denied the earlier claims that he could have been joining rivals Milan this summer.

Several reports in Italy suggested on Friday morning that the Dutch star, who has struggled for form and fitness this season, would consider the cross-city switch for a number of reasons.

However, just as the Rossoneri have done so on Friday, Sneijder has moved to dismiss the speculation.

“Would I go to Milan? This is one of the nonsensical things made up about me,” the 27-year-old stated on his way out of training on Friday afternoon.

“Do not believe it.”

The No 10 is out of action this weekend after suffering a thigh strain against Marseille in midweek.
