Totti denies Cassano call claim

Francesco Totti has ruled out suggestions that he invited Milan enigma Antonio Cassano to rejoin Roma.

Reports this week have linked Cassano with the Giallorossi as part of a possible swap deal with Marco Borriello.

Totti was said to be in favour of his arrival, but the capital captain has dismissed such an hypothesis.

"I haven't heard from Cassano for a lifetime," the No 10 told the Corriere dello Sport on Thursday.

"There has been no contact for a while and I don't even have his mobile phone number. I wouldn't ring him to call him back to Rome.

"It's now time for something to be made clear – I'm no longer getting involved in questions about the transfer market.

"It has absolutely nothing to do with me. There are directors at this club who deal with these matters."

Totti and Cassano played alongside each other at the Stadio Olimpico during the latter's stint at the club.

The former Bari player joined Roma in 2001 for £20m before leaving for Real Madrid in January 2006, just six months before his contract was set to expire.
