Petrucci: 'Strike bad advert for football'

Italian Olympic Committee President Gianni Petrucci feels the Serie A strike would've been “a bad advert for football and its players.”

The AIC (Players' Association) called off the planned strike for this weekend after intensive negotiations over the collective bargaining contract.

“A strike would have been a bad advert for football and its players, but there are different ways to show your dissent,” declared CONI President Petrucci.

“Fortunately, thanks to AIC President Sergio Campana, Lega President Maurizio Beretta and FIGC President Giancarlo Abete, who dealt with the negotiations very well, there will be no strike.”
