Reja sees Juve advantage

Edy Reja has injury problems as Lazio travel to Cagliari and maintains “Juventus have an advantage” in the Scudetto race.

The Bianconeri are not in Europe this season, so can focus all their attention on Serie A.

“There is no over-riding favourite for the title, but obviously those who are not in Europe have more opportunity to prepare for games,” said the Coach.

“For example, Juventus have an advantage because they can think only about this competition.

“Meanwhile, I have to count who is left off the treatment table. It is crucial having a squad capable of covering for absentees.”

Abdoullay Konko has had to pull out of this afternoon's game due to a back problem, so Marius Stankevicius could fill in.

“Cagliari have changed their philosophy compared to last season, as now they are an even tougher opponent. I have to compliment Massimo Ficcadenti on his work.

“As for us, Hernanes is improving a great deal, as he no longer has these dips in form and is learning to move without the ball. He is growing tactically and I think he can do even better, which of course will help improve Lazio.

“Miroslav Klose tended to wait for the ball at Bayern Munich, while here he has understood he has to help prompt the play,” continued Reja.

“He is an added bonus for us with the way he helps the team as well as the goals he scores.”
