Milito: We don't need Eto'o

Diego Milito insists that Inter will return to being the force that they were while Samuel Eto'o was at the club.

The Nerazzurri have had a terrible start to the season after the outfit opted to sell goal machine Eto'o to Russian club Anzhi in the summer.

"Eto'o is a great striker," the Argentine noted on Tuesday afternoon.

"He was important for us, but he's no longer an Inter player. He's not here anymore, but there are other important players who can make a difference.

"Little by little, I'm convinced that the team will return to a great level. We'll soon start putting the goals in again as well.

"We have to stay calm, relaxed and work hard. The work will pay off. This moment will pass."

Milito was dropped for Saturday's 2-1 loss against Juventus after his disappointing performance in the 1-1 at Atalanta – where he missed an open goal.

"I'm fine," he added. "Of course that missed opportunity weighed on me, but I'm OK.

"I feel good, physically and psychologically. It's that kind of moment, a moment in which things aren't going well, but we're a great team and we'll do it."

The Nerazzurri are next in action on Wednesday when Lille arrive at San Siro in the Champions League.

"I'm sure we'll have a great match tomorrow," continued the former Genoa hotshot.

"After a defeat this team has always been able to show it can react and tomorrow we have a great opportunity. We want to win."
