Argentine option for Milito

Inter’s Diego Milito is being linked with a move back to Argentine club Racing Club de Avellaneda and a potential link-up with brother Gabriel.

According to reports in the South American country’s newspaper, Ole, Racing’s club President Gaston Cogorno has promised that the Nerazzurri’s Milito will return to the club.

The striker spent the first five years of his professional career at Racing, in which time he scored 37 goals from 148 appearances.

Even as the report intimates that Milito is keen to stay in Milan until at least the end of the season, it is believed that he has not ruled out the possibility of a return, even in January, particularly in light of Racing’s rumoured attempts to sign his brother Gabriel Milito, who is currently at Independiente.

Diego, Inter’s current top goal-scorer this season with four strikes to his name in Serie A, has struggled for form and fitness since the end of the 2009-10 treble-winning season.

Where that campaign saw him net 32 goals 54 appearances in all competitions for La Beneamata, the 32-year-old has managed just 13 goals in 51 appearances since.
