Siena President Massimo Mezzaroma is convinced that Mattia Destro will be a future star of the Italian game.
The Under-21 international joined the Tuscan club on loan in the summer from Genoa, but with an obligation to buy 50 per cent of his contract in the summer.
He’s since been linked with sides such as Inter – his former club – and Juventus, a fact that doesn’t surprise the Siena chief.
“Destro is an Italian footballing asset,” Mezzaroma told Sky Sport Italia. “This experience here with us is helping him to grow.
“We’ll assess his future in the next few months, but he’s happy at Siena and he should be left in peace so that he can mature.”
The forward, who will turn 21 in March, is an Azzurrini regular under boss Ciro Ferrara.
In 15 Serie A games this season, he has scored five goals.
