Juve to swap Amauri for Gilardino?

Reports that Juventus are considering swapping Amauri for Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino show no sign of abating in the Italian media.

The Old Lady is in the market for a prolific centre-forward and it's no secret Gilardino is high up on her wish list.

Juventus have lost patience with Amauri whose goal droughts over the last two and a half seasons have made a mockery of his €23m transfer fee.

The Della Valle family who own Fiorentina have no intention to selling Gilardino, but that won't stop Juventus making an offer.

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta will try to land Gilardino by bidding €10m plus Amauri in exchange.

In order to make the deal happen in January, Juventus have to raise funds and are looking to do so through the sale of Momo Sissoko to Wolfsburg.

Marotta feels that, aside from Amauri, a €10m lump sum will allow Fiorentina to find a suitable alternative for Gilardino, such as Maxi Lopez who worked with Sinisa Mihajlovic at Catania.
