Roma boss Claudio Ranieri has rejected claims that David Pizarro is set to leave the club after becoming disillusioning under his management.
The Chilean playmaker has lost his place in Roma's starting line up, sparking a great deal of debate in the capital given his importance to the team in recent years.
Asked about Pizarro before tomorrow's game against Catania, Ranieri said: "For me, he can't leave.
"If David or someone else were to come and tell me they have other ideas, then it would be different.
"But I want important players in my team and he is one of them."
Pizarro is currently back home in South America recovering from an injury, which was a decision he took without the club's consent.
Asked if he would fine the player, Ranieri said: "I am not the one to decide these things.
"They are things that regard the club. I don't fine anyone."
