Report: Juve target Forlan and Mutu

Juventus still want another forward after signing Luca Toni, so candidates include Diego Forlan, Antonio Floro Flores and even Fiorentina outcast Adrian Mutu.

On Friday the club completed the signature of Toni from Genoa after discovering Fabio Quagliarella would be out for the season with a knee ligament injury.

Another January signing is still on the cards and there are some remarkable rumours flying around in the Italian media.

The most intriguing is a bid for Mutu, who would not only return to Juve after his departure in 2006, but also reunite with ex-Fiorentina teammate Toni in what was a very prolific partnership.

Mutu is currently in the midst of a bitter legal battle with the Viola, having seen his request for a free transfer to Cesena rejected.

The club will only sell him abroad or for €3m, so the player stormed out of training and has been frozen out of the squad.

There are other alternatives for Juventus, such as unsettled Atletico Madrid hitman Forlan, who was already a target in the summer for €15m.

They could challenge Inter for the signature of Palermo starlet Josip Ilicic, who is valued at €18m, but unlikely to be released in January.

A more realistic target is Udinese's Floro Flores, who declared himself to be a Juventus fan and is unhappy at the lack of playing time at the Stadio Friuli.
