Both Juventus forward Amauri and Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini open the door for his return to Sicily. “I'd take him back straight away.”
The striker has struggled to find form since moving to Juve and is reportedly on the market following the arrival of Luca Toni.
“A return to Palermo? Never say never, as anything is possible in football,” said Amauri on Stadionews.
“I still feel like a son to Zamparini and he cares for me, which makes me very happy. The two clubs have details to work on, but if I have to reply with my heart, then you know my answer.
“I left a part of me in Palermo, as I love the city and its fans.”
The patron was even more enthusiastic about the potential comeback to the Stadio Barbera.
“I'd take him back straight away, even tomorrow morning,” assured Zamparini.
“To join us he'd have to reduce his wages and have the same salary he earned before he left.”
Amauri is currently recovering from surgery after fracturing his nose during the 3-0 defeat at Napoli.
