Parisi 'ashamed' of Bari chaos

As reports circulate that Bari are ready to part company with Giampiero Ventura, Alessandro Parisi admits he's “ashamed” of the fan protests.

The club are bottom of the table and for the past few days police have been called to ensure the safety of the squad after supporters staged protests at the training ground.

“We are living through a surreal experience,” said defender Parisi. “I'm almost ashamed, as it's not easy to train when you are so mortified by a situation.”

Today rumours have circulated that Coach Ventura has agreed to walk away by mutual consent.

“I am a player and everything that is happening is a part of this job. It is a difficult situation and I cannot do anything other than prove myself on the field of play.

“Certain situations should've been dealt with head-on a lot earlier. I pointed out the difficulties I was having, but nobody here wants Ventura's head. Our only duty is to go on the pitch and try to pick up points.”

Parisi is particularly anxious, as his contract expires in the summer and has not been renewed.

“At this stage we live in hope that every weekend will be the one that sees our revival. My personal situation is a bit tricky and the contract is on my mind, but we have other problems to worry about.”
