Di Carlo hopes Pazzo misfires

Sampdoria boss Mimmo Di Carlo says he will salute Giampaolo Pazzini when Inter travel to Marassi this weekend, but hopes he doesn't score.

Pazzini unexpectedly left Sampdoria for Inter during the January transfer window after two successful years at the club.

He returns to Marassi for the first time since his departure on Sunday.

"I hope that he waits until next week to score," Di Carlo said.

"Pazzo has done great things here. He has many friends and I will say 'hi' to him willingly.

"Giampaolo is a good lad. He had the chance to go to a big club and no one could deny him it also because it would have been difficult for him to find new challenges here.

"From next Sunday onwards I hope he scores 12 goals for Inter and takes them high up the table.

"But we must also pay attention to Samuel Eto'o who is an extraordinary player.

"Our defenders must be like bulldogs," he concluded.
