Sirigu flattered by Roma interest

Palermo goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu is flattered by the interest shown by Roma, according to his agent Carlo Pallavicino.

The Italy international feels Palermo's new contract offer is derisory and there is mounting speculation that he will leave Sicily in the summer.

Roma are in the market for a new No 1 in light of the uncertainty between the sticks at the Olimpico with Alexandre Doni and Julio Sergio.

"There hasn't been any official contact with Roma's directors, but I have to say that my client would be very flattered by any interest on Roma's behalf," Pallavicino said.

"Any eventual deal would be facilitated by the good relations between Maurizio Zamparini and the Roma directors. Moreover, selling Sirigu would represent a nice bit of business on the transfer market for the Palermo President from a financial point of view."

Sirigu's existing deal, which makes him one of Palermo's lowest earners, isn't due to expire until 2014 and it's thought that he is worth between €15m and €20m.
