Cavani talks up Napoli title hopes

Edinson Cavani is confident that Napoli can take the title challenge right down to the wire this season.

Napoli currently lie third with a three-point gap separating Walter Mazzarri's side from League leaders Milan.

The Partenopei face Lazio this weekend and hope to profit from the result of the Derby della Madonnina between Milan and Inter.

"I would like Inter to win the derby because Leonardo's team would take the lead at the top but wouldn't escape and then we could overtake them by winning the match scheduled at San Paolo with the help of 80,000 friends," Cavani said.

"It's great to be masters of your own destiny, don't you agree? Instead with a different result it would all depend on Milan and their results.

"This is our hope. The Scudetto is a dream. Inter and Milan are stronger. We must add into consideration our happiness, our freshness and our clear heads. They have to win the Scudetto. We can live game-by-game.

"Our principal objective is to qualify for the Champions League," he concluded.
