Mihajlovic respects Cesena

Sinisa Mihajlovic warned his Fiorentina players that today's opponents Cesena are “a side to be feared.”

The Viola are outsiders for the Europa League spots and favourites to win this afternoon's game.

“Cesena are an excellent squad and a side to be feared. They have achieved some very important results on home turf this season and we need to be wary,” warned the Coach.

Fiorentina have to do without Valon Behrami, who picked up an injury on international duty.

“Valon does have unique characteristics and quality, but whoever takes his place will not disappoint.

“I can see Riccardo Montolivo do well in front of the defence, as he is good at dictating the tempo and can make the difference in that position.

“As for Alberto Gilardino, he makes an impact even when he doesn't play well.”

Some players, such as Mario Alberto Santana, Marco Donadel and Gianluca Comotto, are out of contract at the end of the season and will not renew.

“I admire my players as men,” added Mihajlovic. “I spoke to them and they have assured me they will continue to respect their duties towards the team until the end of the season.”

Someone who has been offered a new deal is director general Pantaleo Corvino.

“I fully share this decision. Pantaleo has done great things for Fiorentina.”
