Prandelli: 'Cassano was naive'

Cesare Prandelli tips Napoli to fight for the Scudetto all the way and comments on Antonio Cassano's “naive” red card.

This weekend the Serie A table took a strange turn, as Milan beat Inter 3-0, allowing the Partenopei into second place.

“The Milan derby was a wonderful game,” said the Italy Coach, who was in the stands last night.

“Napoli have an extraordinary structure with their football and great character. I'm convinced they'll fight for the Scudetto right to the end.”

Prandelli also witnessed the best and worst of Cassano, who in 12 minutes on the field earned and converted a penalty, then received two yellow cards.

Already booked for taking off his shirt to celebrate the goal, FantAntonio was shown a second yellow for a pointless foul on Ivan Cordoba.

“Cassano was naive, but the foul that cost him the second booking wasn't all that bad. After the goal he had a reaction of joy and euphoria.

“I'm happy for him getting this goal and I prefer to look at the positive aspects of his performance.

“In five minutes he showed all the areas of his nature.”
