Mazzarri won't rule out Napoli exit

Walter Mazzarri sent shockwaves through the Napoli supporters by admitting he must “consider many things” before renewing his contract.

The Coach has taken this side to third place and they are within touching distance of Champions League qualification, but he has been repeatedly linked with Juventus and refuses to rule it out.

“No, I will not put an end to the renewal issue, because the season has to terminate first,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I speak the truth and don't want to be ambiguous. First of all you reach your targets, then you sit around a table and understand what the situation is. I did it last season as well and will do this in the summer. A Coach has to consider many things.”

One of the issues on the table will be transfer strategy, as Mazzarri warned this Napoli side is not ready for the Champions League.

“The victory over Genoa is worth a great deal, although we aren't mathematically qualified yet. Perhaps we felt the pressure of the two consecutive defeats and also the heavy rain didn't help our style of play on the night.

“The Champions League is a tough competition with a very high level and to give a good account of ourselves we must involve many factors. You need strength in depth and two great players for every position.

“The lads are doing incredible things this season and I do not feel ready to compliment an individual, as the whole group deserves praise.”
