Montella: 'We're capable of anything...'

Vincenzo Montella said Roma's thrilling Bari victory was “our season in a microcosm. We're capable of just about anything.”

The Giallorossi were twice trailing, missed a penalty, had Daniele De Rossi and Simone Perrotta sent off and were saved by the woodwork on two occasions before Aleandro Rosi sealed a 3-2 win at the 95th minute.

“The only positive apart from the result was our determination to get there,” said the Coach.

“We didn't play well in either half. This match was our season in a microcosm, as we're capable of just about anything and sometimes overcome difficult situations with our determination.

“This is a very important element, our desire to fight to the very end, so a Coach has to be happy about that. However, there's little to be proud of when we're so disorganised and there is a lot of work to do.”

De Rossi made matters even more complicated with his straight red card for using his elbow, which will probably earn a three-match ban.

“I don't think it was as serious as it looked, but admittedly I'm biased,” continued Montella.

“It wasn't a great victory, but there are three games left and this could end up proving decisive for €20m of Champions League money.”

Roma's next match is against Serie A leaders Milan, who need one point to win the Scudetto.

“I hope it won't be the title-winning game!”
