Marchisio commits to Juve

Claudio Marchisio has dismissed suggestions that he could be sacrificed by Juventus this summer.

Although the midfielder recently extended his contract until June 2016, there have been suggestions that he may be sold.

Juventus seem to be rebuilding their midfield having already signed Andrea Pirlo, as well as making moves for Michele Pazienza of Napoli and Udinese's Gokhan Inler.

That led to speculation that players would have to be shipped out in order to make room for the expected new faces.

"A top player is on the way? I hope two arrive," the Italian international told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"One thing is for certain and that is that I will remain a Bianconero. Turin is my home, I have just extended my contract and I'm not thinking about leaving.

"At certain levels, nobody can start a season by considering themselves a certain starter. You have to earn your place on the pitch by sweating for it. I've always done that since being at this club."

Marchisio is currently on international duty and will start in Italy's game tonight against Estonia alongside Pirlo, his new club colleague.

"I've had a laugh with Andrea over the past few days," he added. "We'll form a great central midfield partnership, I'm sure."
