Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani admits that he's surprised by the timing of Leonardo's Inter exit.
The Brazilian, who joined Inter on Christmas Eve just months after quitting city rivals Milan, is leaving the Nerazzurri to become sporting director at Paris SG.
"I didn't expect him to leave Inter so suddenly, but I have always known that he prefers to be a director rather than a Coach," said the Rossonero chief.
Galliani is the man responsible for turning the former player into a Coach at Milan in 2009, but Leo resigned just a year into that 24-month deal.
Leo's departure seems to have left Inter in a state of confusion and transition, but Galliani still respects them as an opponent.
"We are talking about the current Club World Cup champions," he stated. "We'll see them in Beijing for what promises to be a great tie."
The two teams will meet in China for the Italian Super Cup clash, between the League champions and the Italian Cup winners, on August 6.
