Miha: Pulgar better than me!

Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic declared Erick Pulgar was a better penalty taker than him after his brace from the spot against Chievo on Monday.

Mihajlovic was a set-piece specialist as a player, but Pulgar scored his fourth and fifth penalties of the season during Bologna’s 3-0 victory over Chievo, which moved them two points closer to safety in Serie A.

“I didn’t like the first half, we weren’t very clear-headed: we were just thinking about going forward. We wanted to solve the game in 15 minutes,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

'Stronger forces have cost Chievo'

Chievo boss Domenico Di Carlo slammed the ‘scandalous’ decisions and ‘stronger forces’ that cost his side a result against Bologna on Monday.

Chievo lost 3-0 to Bologna, with the Rossoblu profiting from two penalties, although both looked soft on first glance, while the VAR did not intervene for either.

“I’m not talking about VARs and referees, I go home quietly,” Di Carlo told Sky Sport Italia.

Line-ups: Bologna-Chievo

Rodrigo Palacio leads the line for Bologna this evening against a Chievo side who hand a first-ever start to teenage winger Emanuel Vignato.

Palacio is picked ahead of Federico Santander in Bologna’s attack, although Mattia Destro is out after celebrating during a goal celebration.

The experienced Blerim Dzemaili, meanwhile, gets the nod over Andrea Poli in the Rossoblu’s engine room.

Probable line-ups: Bologna-Chievo

Bologna can climb out of the relegation zone with a win against bottom side Chievo at the Dall’Ara this evening.

The match between these two Serie A strugglers kicks off at 19:30 UK time (18:30 GMT).

With Udinese beating Empoli 3-2 on Sunday morning, a win here would see the Rossoblu leapfrog the Tuscans into 17th position.

Sinisa Mihajlovic will have to do without the services of Federico Mattiello and striker Mattia Destro, who injured himself while celebrating his late winner against Sassuolo.

Serie A Week 31 referees

The referees for Serie A Week 31 are announced as Michael Fabbri will oversee Saturday’s showdown between Juventus and Milan.

Fabbri has not officiated a Juve game this season, while he was in charge of Milan’s 1-1 draw with Empoli back in September.

Elsewhere, Massimiliano Irrati will be the man in the middle for Inter’s clash with Champions League-chasing Atalanta and Rosario Abisso is handed Lazio-Sassuolo.

Mihajlovic: 'Atalanta were stronger'

Sinisa Mihajlovic admits Bologna “lost to an Atalanta team that are stronger than we are, but must not lose hope. I have faith in the players.”

They were already 4-0 down in Bergamo within 15 minutes, swept aside by a Josip Ilicic brace, Hans Hateboer and Duvan Zapata.

“We didn’t even step on to the pitch early on, but were also unlucky that they scored with two stunners in their first two attempts,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after a 4-1 final result.

De Zerbi: 'Sassuolo need concentration'

Sassuolo boss Roberto De Zerbi wants his team to build on the 4-0 victory over Chievo and avoid lapses of concentration.

It was their first win since January 26, a negative streak that had left them not quite safe from the potential threat of relegation.

“I am happy, but we need more results than this,” De Zerbi told Sky Sport Italia.

Di Carlo: 'Chievo always penalised'

Chievo Coach Domenico Di Carlo was again furious with referees and VAR officials after a 4-0 defeat to Sassuolo. “How can we compete when we are penalised every time?”

The Flying Donkeys had two goals disallowed this evening, the first for a foul in midfield during the build-up, the second for a tight offside call.
