Cesena complete Parolo swoop

Marco Parolo is now 100 per cent owned by Cesena after they bought Chievo's half-share in the player.

The Veronese side did want to take Parolo back to the Stadio Bentegodi after offering Cesena cash and Simone Bentivoglio in return.

However, it seems that Cesena made Chievo a more tempting offer for their half of the player following talks this morning.

Cesena have confirmed their move for the Italian international midfielder with a short note on their website.

Parolo, 26, has just completed his first season in Serie A.

Di Carlo jumped at Chievo return

Domenico Di Carlo is back on the Chievo bench. “We start from scratch and I said yes straight away.”

The tactician had already worked at the Stadio Bentegodi in 2008, then had an unsuccessful spell at relegated Sampdoria.

“We start from scratch,” said the Coach on his return Press conference.

“Sampdoria were an important experience that enriched me professionally, even playing in the Champions League.

“I gave all of myself to that job, the same way I have always done and will do for Chievo.

Di Carlo back at Chievo

Domenico Di Carlo has become the third coaching appointment of the day after Chievo confirmed his arrival.

Sampdoria and Catania had already announced Gianluca Atzori and Vincenzo Montella respectively, before Chievo completed the hat-trick.

Di Carlo, sacked by Sampdoria this season, has signed a one-year contract with the club which he has already bossed in the past.

The former Vicenza midfielder joined Chievo in the autumn of 2008 and kept them in the top-flight for two seasons before moving to Marassi.

Pellissier rejects Napoli option

Even the lure of Champions League football is unlikely to tempt Chievo's Sergio Pellissier into joining Napoli.

The Azzurri are looking for a new centre-forward as they aim to strengthen ahead of a campaign that will see them take part in Europe's premier club competition.

Pellissier has been suggested as a possible target, a player who has been linked to the San Paolo outfit with regularity over the last 24 months.

Chievo: 'We want Montella'

Chievo directors have confirmed “we are interested in Vincenzo Montella” to take the bench next season.

“Speaking of Pioli, we at Chievo give him our best wishes for this new experience at Palermo.”
