Milito: ‘I rejected Inter’

Former Inter striker Diego Milito reveals he turned them down, four years before his eventual move.

The Argentinian was the hero of the Nerazzurri’s treble campaign of 2009-10, scoring 30 goals in all competitions, including two in the Champions League final.

“I always decide with my heart,” Milito told Ole in his homeland, having rejoined his boyhood side, Racing Club.

Capel ‘looking to match Milito’

Diego Capel says at his Genoa presentation that he wants to match the achievements of Diego Milito and Diego Perotti at the club.

The winger signed from Sporting CP earlier this week and spoke of his appreciation for Coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who he is at ‘the complete disposal’ of.

“I’m looking to match the great goals that [Diego] Milito and Perotti reached,” Capel said during the Press conference for his unveiling.

“I know that they have done very well and I hope to do the same.

Zanetti: ‘Inter believe in Kovacic’

Javier Zanetti assures Inter ‘believe’ in Mateo Kovacic, praises Mauro Icardi, and reveals he turned down Real Madrid in his playing days.

The former full-back celebrated his 42nd birthday yesterday, and spoke to Sky about his life with the Nerazzurri, having joined in 1995 before making over 850 appearances and becoming vice-President.

“Mateo Kovacic? As a club we’ve always shown total faith, we’ve always believed in him,” Zanetti said.
