Marseille are pondering a January bid for Inter striker Diego Milito, reports in France are claiming.

The Argentine hasn’t had the happiest of starts to the campaign in terms of form, even if he has scored four goals in 10 games across Serie A and the Champions League.

Milito relief at breakthrough

Diego Milito hopes tonight's goal against Lille has broken his drought, especially after missing another sitter.

The striker was downhearted in this evening's 2-1 victory when he somehow ballooned over an open goal from close range, but got back on his feet to score the second.

“I really, honestly hope this bad period has passed with this goal and that I have broken through,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Inter's Milito welcomes Gasperini

Diego Milito is looking forward to working with Gian Piero Gasperini again following his arrival at Inter.

The Argentine striker was bossed by the tactician at Genoa in 2008-09 and ended that campaign with 24 goals in 31 Serie A games. A move to Inter quickly followed.

"I'm content, actually I'm very happy with Gasperini's arrival on the bench," the forward told La Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday.

"We had a splendid season at Genoa where we enjoyed ourselves and we entertained others," he continued.
