Inter to offer Carew contract - report

Inter are ready to offer John Carew a short-term deal until the end of the season, according to reports in Italy this evening.

Calcio News claim that the Nerazzurri will offer the 33-year-old €300,000 to play until the culmination of the current campaign, as a replacement for the injured Diego Milito.

Milito has knee surgery

Inter forward Diego Milito has undergone surgery for damage to the anterior cruciate and collateral ligaments in his left knee.

The 33-year-old Argentine got his studs caught in the turf and badly turned his knee during the 2-0 Europa League win over Cluj on Thursday.

Inter’s Diego Milito has publicly thanked everyone for their support after his season came to an agonising end on Thursday.

The Argentine striker damaged knee ligaments in the 2-0 win over Cluj last night, an injury which will require surgery and around six months on the sidelines.

It was clear the moment it happened that this was a bad injury. Diego Milito landed awkwardly, his left foot remained planted firmly on the ground while his knee carried on the momentum, bending horribly out of shape. The tears as he was stretchered off in a stunned San Siro meant he had the same concern everyone did.

Milan’s message to Milito

Milan have wished Inter striker Diego Milito a speedy recovery after the Argentine damaged knee ligaments last night.

The forward will be out for the rest of the season and the Diavolo have put city rivalries to one side this morning.

“All of Milan are profoundly saddened by the injury sustained,” a brief note on the club’s website stated.
