A statement was released this afternoon confirming the contract with Meluso had been interrupted early by mutual consent.

He had been in the role for four years, helping the club move from Serie C to Serie A.

According to Sportitalia writer Alfredo Pedullà, Meluso will be replaced by a very familiar face to Lecce, namely Corvino.

Official: Mancosu signs three-year deal with Lecce

Lecce have officially signed a new three-year deal with attacking midfielder Marco Mancosu.

The Sardinian scored 14 goals in Serie A this term but couldn’t prevent the Giallorossi from relegating to Serie B.

Mancosu has renewed for three years and has implemented a release clause in his new contract at the Via del Mare.

Any possible suitors must therefore trigger the €3m release clause in his new three-year deal, but the 31-year-old seems set to help Lecce in their pursuit of a swift return to Serie A.
