Balotelli to make City return

Brescia new boy Mario Balotelli will return to Manchester City for Vincent Kompany’s testimonial next month.

City announced on their official website that Balotelli had agreed to take part as a member of their Legends team who would be facing a Premier League All-Stars XI.

The Italy striker was a fans’ favourite at Etihad Stadium between 2010 and 2013, scoring 30 goals and lifting a Premier League title.

Among his contributions was assisting Sergio Aguero for the goal that won City the title in 2012.

Marchisio: 'No Serie A or Suning'

Claudio Marchisio ruled out Brescia or any Italian club other than Juventus, while he turned down Jiangsu Suning “because they are too close to Inter.”

The midfielder is a free agent after his brief spell with Zenit St Petersburg and still recovering from knee surgery.

“It’s a different summer for me, the first time I haven’t been participating in pre-season training with any team,” confessed Marchisio to Sky Sport Italia.

Balotelli: 'Italy depends on me, now...'

Mario Balotelli assures he is ready to be “a leader” at Brescia and regain his Italy place. “Before Roberto Mancini, it didn’t depend on me.”

The 29-year-old signed a multi-year contract with his hometown club Brescia, who just earned promotion to Serie A.

“I am truly, truly happy,” he grinned on Sky Sport Italia after spells at Nice and Olympique Marseille.

Cellino: 'Italian media must help Balotelli'

Brescia President Massimo Cellino urged the media to “help” Mario Balotelli, but claimed English football fans were “racist” against Italians.

The patron spoke at a Press conference presenting new star signing Balotelli.

“This was not a publicity stunt, in fact it was also a way of thanking the fans for buying so many season tickets and showing such enthusiasm,” said Cellino.

Balotelli: 'Mother cried at Brescia move'

Mario Balotelli reveals his mother “cried” with happiness when he joined hometown club Brescia. “It was my Father’s dream to see me in this jersey.”

Although the striker was born in Palermo to Ghanaian parents, he moved to Brescia at the age of two and his adoptive family still lives there, although his Father died recently.

This is therefore a return to his hometown club, even though he started out in the youth academies of Lumezzane and then Inter, so never actually played for the Rondinelle.

Coppa: Brescia crash out to Perugia

Brescia were leading until the 91st minute, but were eliminated from the Coppa Italia Third Round in extra time by Perugia.

The 2-1 result means Perugia will go through to face either Sassuolo or Spezia in the Fourth Round in December.

The Rondinelle had reason to celebrate at the Stadio Curi, as it was announced this evening that Mario Balotelli has signed for his hometown club.

Official: Balotelli joins Brescia

Mario Balotelli has officially signed "a multi-year contract" for his hometown club Brescia as a free agent following their promotion to Serie A.

“Mario Balotelli Barwuah is officially a new player of Brescia Calcio S.p.A. The Footballer has signed a multi-year contract with the Rondinelle,” read a statement.
