Serie A Week 32 referees

The referees for Sunday’s Serie A fixtures have been confirmed, with Federico La Penna given Napoli-Milan.

La Penna has been one of the more card-happy referees this season, showing 82 yellows and five reds in his 16 games this season, while awarding 11 penalties.

Both sides have a mixed record with the Roman as Napoli have won just one of their three matches, conceding a spot-kick in the 4-2 defeat to Sampdoria.

As for Milan, he was the referee when they were thrashed 5-0 by Atalanta in January.

Lopez: 'Not Brescia's last chance'

Diego Lopez claims Brescia are ‘giving everything we have’ to stay up and points out the positive ‘desire and enthusiasm’ he has seen in the group ahead of Saturday’s match against Roma.

Bresica sit second to bottom in Serie A, seven points behind safety, but can take confidence from going two games unbeaten at the Rigamonti.

Lopez doesn’t think the match on Saturday presents the last chance to keep up with the teams above the relegation zone.

Fonseca: 'No one is irreplaceable'

Roma coach Paulo Fonseca hopes to have ‘tired’ Edin Dzeko available against Brescia, but is forced to make changes due to the one-match bans for Bryan Cristante and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The press conference started with a look at the Europa League draw, but Fonseca wanted to focus on the task at hand before looking at the potential future opponents in the competition.

Giacomelli to ref Juve-Atalanta

Piero Giacomelli has been assigned to the top of the table showdown between Juventus and Atalanta, as referees are named for Saturday’s Serie A games.

Atalanta could move to within six points of the leaders with a victory in Turin, having already won nine on the bounce.

Giacomelli will officiate Juventus-Atalanta, with Massimiliano Irrati in the VAR booth.

The 42-year-old has already overseen a tense 2-2 draw between Atalanta and Napoli this season, meaning his record with La Dea is of eight wins, four draws and five defeats.

Brescia: 'Balotelli is 8kg overweight'

The official Brescia website has updated Mario Balotelli’s details to show he now weighs 99.8kg – approximately 8kg overweight.

It’s another step in the battle between the club and their star striker, who has been excluded from training amid a contract dispute.

The data was changed on his profile in the official website, showing he is 190cm tall and weighs 99.8kg (216lbs).

This would make the forward approximately 8kg (17.6lbs) overweight.

Malago wants fans back 'as soon as possible'

CONI President Giovanni Malago claims the low TV ratings in Italy are due to the lack of people in the stands and hopes to see fans in the stadium before the season is over.

Serie A has been carried out behind closed doors since the resumption and Malago thinks it has affected the viewer numbers.

He spoke at the Educamp presentation and his words were picked up by TMW: “For months they have thought us to respect the indications of the Technical and Scientific Commission (CTS).

Highlights: Torino 3-1 Brescia

Brescia thought they were going to stage another huge upset with Ernesto Torregrossa’s opener, but Torino fought back for a 3-1 victory.

This was a potentially massive clash in the relegation race, so when Toro saw their early attempts dashed and Torregrossa put Brescia in front, their heads dropped.

However, Moreno Longo’s men managed to turn it all around in the second half, as luck went their way with an Ales Mateju deflection off Simone Verdi’s shot.
