Father: 'Ronaldo comparisons made with Zaniolo'

Nicolò Zaniolo’s father admits the Roma and Italy talent is ‘really struggling’ after his second ACL tear of 2020. ‘Some Ronaldo comparisons have been made.’

The 21-year-old tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in January, had only made a handful of appearances following his comeback in July when he suffered an identical injury to the left knee.

Galliani: 'Pirlo was always a coach'

Former Milan CEO Adriano Galliani explains why he was always confident new Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo would become a coach, unlike Ronaldinho, who ‘didn’t even care who we were playing.’

Pirlo has been appointed as the head coach at Juventus, despite having zero managerial experience and not even getting his full coaching badges yet.

“He was already a coach when he was playing,” Galliani told the Corriere dello Sport.

Ronaldo: 'Thank you, Gigi'

Ronaldo has thanked Luigi Simoni for ‘teaching me more than you could ever imagine’ after the former Inter boss passed away on Friday.

Ronaldo enjoyed the best season of his Inter career under Simoni in 1997-98, scoring 34 goals in all competitions and winning the UEFA Cup.

“Gigi Simoni wasn’t just a coach for me,” he wrote on Instagram.

Simoni: Ronaldo's greatest coach

Luigi Simoni may have only won one major trophy as a coach, but his greatest achievement was getting the best out of Ronaldo at Inter. 

Simoni, who died earlier today at the age of 81, will go down as a legendary figure in Italian football.

He won seven promotions to Serie A with five different clubs – Genoa, Pisa, Brescia, Cremonese and Ancona.

His work with smaller sides caught the attentions of Inter, who hired him in the summer of 1997.

Ronaldo names the four players – three of them Italian – who should’ve won the Ballon d’Or, goes back over the Inter showdowns with Juventus and refereeing ‘mistakes.’

Il Fenomeno spoke to Del Piero in an Instagram live chat about his Serie A career and the infamous Mark Iuliano challenge in that match against Juventus in April 1998.

“I can understand mistakes and referee can get it wrong too,” said Ronaldo of the denied penalty and later eruption of the Calciopoli scandal in 2006.
