Cafu: 'Find Liverpool weak spots'

Former Roma legend Marcos Cafu believes an early goal can bring out “some weak spots in the Liverpool side” in tonight’s Champions League semi-final.

The first leg ended 5-2 at Anfield and the return is this evening at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

“It’s hard to say there are weak spots in either side, as they’ve both done very well this season both domestically and in the Champions League,” Cafu told Roma TV.

Cafu: ‘This is Gattuso’s Milan’

Brazilian legend Cafu says “it’s no surprise” Milan show such determination, given Gennaro Gattuso is their Coach.

The Rossoneri went 2-1 down to Chievo yesterday, but fought back to win 3-2 thanks to André Silva’s late strike.

“We can expect everything with Gattuso,” Cafu, who spent five seasons with the Diavolo, told Milan TV.

“It’s no surprise to see a team with such determination that gives everything on the pitch. This is Gattuso’s Milan.

Cafu reveals Scudetto pick

Former Roma and Milan full-back Cafu has revealed the team that he is backing for the Serie A title this season – Napoli.

Cafu won the Scudetto with both Roma and Milan in 2000 and 2003 respectively, but the Brazilian made it clear he felt Napoli were better equipped to become champions in 2017-18.

“In my opinion, Juve are better than a year ago, even if two important players of theirs left,” he told Radio 24.

“The concept of football is always the same, and the way that Napoli and Juve play is the same, compared to a year ago.

The former Roma forward, currently a free agent, was touted as the best Italian talent of his generation but had numerous run-ins with Coaches, Presidents and referees.

“I love football,” Cassano told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It made me a man, it gave me popularity and wealth. I gave football goals and emotions, but I only did 50 per cent of what I could have done.

Cafu: 'Totti sets Roma example'

Marcos Cafu doubts Francesco Totti “blocks the growth” of other players at Roma. “He sets a great example and is a leader.”

The Giallorossi captain turned 40 last month and director of sport Walter Sabatini said in his parting Press conference that Totti’s continued presence could “affect or even block the growth of other players in the squad, almost like a cork.”

Cafu does not agree with Sabatini’s assessment.

‘Roberto Carlos and Cafu examples’

Juventus’ Alex Sandro views compatriots Roberto Carlos and Cafu as examples for him to follow in his career.

The 25-year-old arrived in Turin in 2015, where he has been competing with Patrice Evra for a starting spot in Max Allegri’s line-up. However, he has started all three of Juve’s Serie A matches so far this season.

“I think I am improving each day, thanks to my teammates and the staff,” Sandro said to Serie A’s official television station.

“Serie A is difficult, it is a magical League full of stars.

Cafu: ‘Totti will decide’

Former Roma full-back Cafu says only Francesco Totti can say if he should hang up his boots.

The Giallorossi captain appears unlikely to be offered a new contract by the club, but has expressed his desire to keep playing, and scored twice against Torino last night.

“Totti is Totti,” Cafu told Adnkronos.

“Age comes to us all. To me and to a great champion like him. He alone knows whether it’s the right time to stop playing, we can’t decide if he should stop or not, it’s him who knows.
