Roma Vital signs are positive

Roma have reportedly reached a deal for Corinthians creative midfielder Mateus Vital, on loan with €8-10m option to buy.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs have agreed basic terms and the 21-year-old has given his all-clear to the transfer.

It would be a loan with option to buy at the end of the season.

However, the Brazilians want it to become an obligation to purchase, so they are still whittling down the details.

Vital is ready to sign a five-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

Roma check in for Brazilian attacker?

Roma are reportedly ready to complete a triple swoop of transfers with the signing of Corinthians attacker Mateus Vital.

Roma are closing in on deals for Chris Smalling and Nikola Kalinic, and Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports they are also hoping to add Mateus.

The 21-year-old can play on either wing or through the middle as an attacking midfielder.

He has represented Brazil at various youth levels and three goals for Corinthians in 55 appearances, while providing as many assists.

Nubel or Cassio for Roma?

Roma are reportedly tracking several goalkeepers to replace Robin Olsen, including Schalke’s Alexander Nubel and Corinthians’ Cassio.

According to Tele Radio Stereo, the Giallorossi have identified the two shot-stoppers as potential replacements for the much-maligned Swede.

Nubel is currently on duty with the German Under-21 team and has started all three of their games so far at the U21 Euros, which is being held in Italy.

Paulinho: 'I turned down Inter'

Brazil midfielder Paulinho revealed he turned down a move to Inter in 2011, as he was given only “15 minutes” to give an answer.

The Barcelona man eventually came to Europe for Tottenham Hotspur two years later, then Guangzhou Evergrande before switching to Camp Nou in 2017.

“I climbed from the Fourth Division to the Second Division and then to the First Division with Corinthians,” Paulinho told The Players Tribune.

Official: Toro’s Avelar joins Corinthians

Torino have confirmed that full-back Danilo Avelar has left to join Corinthians on an intial loan deal.

The 29-year-old is not part of the Granata’s plans moving forward and spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 club Amiens.

He made 25 appearances for the French club, scoring once, but he returned to his parent club at the end of the campaign.

Now, he has moved back to his homeland of Brazil, where Corinthians will have the option to sign him on a permanent basis next summer.

Avelar towards Corinthians

Torino have reportedly agreed terms to sell Danilo Avelar to Corinthians after his loan spell at SC Amiens.

The 29-year-old left-back is still under contract until June 2019 and spent this term in France.

According to Mediaset Premium, Avelar is heading to Brazil for Corinthians.

He is well-travelled, playing in Ukraine, Germany, Italy and France.

He joined Torino for €2m in 2015 after initially coming to Serie A for Cagliari.

Bologna after Corinthians winger

Bologna have reportedly made an approach for Corinthians right-sided winger Angel Romero.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Rossoblu set their sights on the Paraguay international, who has one goal in three senior caps for his country.

He turns 26 in July and joined Corinthians from Cerro Porteno in 2014.

So far this season, Romero has contributed one goal and four assists in nine competitive games.

Sabatini in Suning jab?

Inter technical coordinator Walter Sabatini appeared to accuse owners Suning Group of breaking promises after Alex Teixeira’s failed move to Corinthians.

Teixeira seemed to be on his way to Corinthians from Jiangsu Suning, but Sabatini claimed indecisiveness on the part of his employers had left the proposed transfer in ruin.

“The possibilities for now are zero,” the former Roma sporting director told UOL Esporte.

Napoli set sights on Maycon

Napoli have reportedly approached 20-year-old Corinthians midfielder Maycon, seeking an option for the future.

Sky Sport Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio claims the club is in contact with Corinthians to get him locked down before the competition grows too fierce.

He would be brought in to the Stadio San Paolo for next season, but begin in the Primavera youth team.

Maycon has one goal in eight caps for the Brazil Under-20 squad.

Roma and Man City want Vitinho

Roma and Manchester City are reportedly facing off on the transfer market for 17-year-old Corinthians talent Vitinho.

According to Calciomercato.it, the trequartista has caught the eye of both Monchi and the Premier League outfit.

His full name is Victor Gabriel Moura de Oliveira and he turns 18 in January.

Vitinho has impressed playing for Brazil at the Under-17 World Cup in India and has a release clause worth €25m.
