Insigne: World Cup a good experience

Lorenzo Insigne has commented on Italy’s woeful World Cup campaign, but believes he will be better as a result.

The Azzurri crashed out of the tournament in the group stages after losing to Costa Rica and Uruguay in their final two matches.

The Napoli striker though, is confident that the squad are on an upward curve.

“I was happy to be a part of the group, because I’m only 23,” he told a Press conference.

Insigne: Napoli want the Scudetto

Lorenzo Insigne has insisted that Napoli are focusing purely on winning the Scudetto this term.

Insigne: Calm and motivated

Lorenzo Insigne admits ‘it is impossible’ to forget his Italy experience this summer, but is ‘calm and as motivated as ever’ with Napoli.

The attacking midfielder was one of those to come under scrutiny following the Azzurri’s early World Cup exit in Brazil, for below-par performances.

Michu starts Napoli training

Recent Napoli signing Michu was the first in the field this morning for the start of pre-season work with his new teammates.

The Spanish striker yesterday completed formalities on an initial season-long loan move from Swansea City.

Today, he has been pictured starting training with his new club and was seen as first on to the field to begin the workout.

Napoli reunite Insigne brothers

Napoli announced the squad for their initial pre-season training, including both Insigne brothers.

The team will begin work on Thursday at the Dimaro camp, though obviously the players involved in the knockout stages of the World Cup will arrive later.

Inler & Insigne asked back early

Gokhan Inler and Lorenzo Insigne have been asked to forgo some of their summer holidays in order to be fully fit for Napoli’s Champions League play-off.

The duo both played at the World Cup for Switzerland and Italy respectively, but were back home early than expected, with the Swiss out in the round of 16 and the Azzurri in the group stage.
