Lorenzo Insigne has set his sights on a recall to the Italian national side after failing to make Antonio Conte’s first squad.

Inter plan for Insigne, but…

Inter are today being linked by Tuttosport with a late summer move for Napoli’s attacking talent Lorenzo Insigne.

The Turin publication suggest that the Nerazzurri sense an opportunity to pick up the Naples native in the coming final week of the transfer window, amid his continued struggles to win over the Veusviani fans.

It is alleged that Inter officials have already even held preliminary discussions with both Insigne and Napoli counterparts over a proposed deal.

Did Insigne beg to leave Napoli?

It’s claimed Lorenzo Insigne tearfully begged Rafa Benitez and Napoli for a transfer after another row with fans.

The forward is the only native Neapolitan in the squad and often the only Italian in the starting XI, but his relationship with the home fans appears to have irrevocably broken down.

He was loudly jeered several times last season, then insulted by the crowd during a team presentation ceremony.
