Milan in for Rodriguez?

Milan are allegedly joining the race for Los Angeles FC winger Brian Rodriguez, having established contact with the Uruguayan’s representatives.

The 20-year-old has seems set to arrive in Europe in the upcoming transfer market, with both Napoli and Sampdoria from Serie A reported to be chasing his signature.

Milan, according to Tuttomercatoweb, have entered the race too. The report claims talks with agent Pablo Bentancur are ongoing regarding a possible future at San Siro for the starlet.

Chiellini: 'Admired Suarez for his bite'

Giorgio Chiellini wrote about Uruguay international Luis Suarez biting him on the shoulder. ‘I admire him. I too am a son of a b***h on the field and proud of it.’

The Juventus and Italy defender releases his autobiography this month and covers numerous subjects throughout his career, including the infamous bite during the 2014 World Cup.

“The truth is, I admire his mischief, because if Suarez were to lose that, he would become an average player,” wrote Chiellini.

Caceres: 'I had coronavirus for 60 days'

Fiorentina defender Martin Caceres has revealed he had coronavirus for two months without knowing it: “I felt something in my lungs.”

The Uruguay international spoke to his South American compatriot Yisela Paola on Instagram and revealed that he had been quarantined because of symptoms.

“Without knowing it, I had coronavirus in my body for 60 days,” he said. “I had some symptoms between March 8 and 15.

Report: Caceres COVID-19 positive

According to reports in South America and Spain, Martin Caceres is one of the Fiorentina players who tested positive for COVID-19.

The Viola confirmed that three players and three members of staff were shown to be positive for coronavirus ahead of a return to individual training.

They have been placed into self-isolation for 14 days and will be tested again.

According to El Pais in Uruguay, Cien Por Ciento Deporte in Chile and Spanish paper Sport, one of the players who tested positive is Caceres.

Ruben Sosa hails Bentancur

Uruguay hero Ruben Sosa assures Juventus have themselves a real champion in Rodrigo Bentancur. ‘He’s like a Gennaro Gattuso with better technique.’

The midfielder won’t turn 23 until next month, but has taken over from Miralem Pjanic as first choice for Maurizio Sarri.

“Bentancur is a champion already, despite his young age,” former Inter striker Sosa told footballnews24.it.

Godin returned to Uruguay

Inter defender Diego Godin and seven other Nerazzurri players were given the green light to leave Italy after finishing their quarantine period.

The Uruguayan defender has returned to South America after serving the initial quarantine in Milan and sent a message to the fans upon his arrival.

“I left Italy with the authorisation of the club, the doctor and the health authorities,” he explained on Instagram. “I have to be in quarantine here, being responsible and aware of the situation.

Seven Serie A players in Uruguay squad

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez has picked seven players from Serie A in the squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Ecuador.

The first two World Cup qualifiers will take place at the end of the month and among the 26 men selected to represent Uruguay there are seven players who currently ply their trade in the top tier of Italian football.

Inter snap up Satriano

Inter have agreed a deal for teenage Nacional striker Martin Satriano, claim Sky Sport Italia, after Cagliari had also approached the player.

According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Satriano will fly in tomorrow from Uruguay for his medical.

Crucially, he has an Italian passport due to his ancestors from the Peninsula.

He will turn 19 next month and made the step up from the Nacional youth team to the senior squad only a few weeks ago.

Naturally, Satriano will go into the Inter youth team first.
