Thiago Silva: 'Nesta leaving Milan'

Thiago Silva has caused controversy by claiming “it's Alessandro Nesta's last season with Milan.”

The defenders form a solid partnership at the back and Nesta seems to have recovered fully from his injury problems.

“It's a shame, as in my view it's Sandro's last season with Milan,” the Brazilian told Sportitalia television.

“It would be a great shame to see him go at the end of the current campaign.”

This has forced Coach Massimiliano Allegri to recall Marek Jankulovski, who had been dropped and is expected to leave in January.

Thiago Silva ready for Real

Thiago Silva should be available for Milan's Champions League encounter against Real Madrid this week.

The Brazilian has been sidelined since picking up an injury against Chievo on October 16, but he is set to feature on Wednesday.

The central defender completed a large proportion of training at Milanello on Monday which proved his fitness.

The international missed just the end of practice game as a precautionary measure given the wet and slippery surface of the pitch.
