Borini: 'Sunderland for Euro 2016'

Fabio Borini explains he returned to Sunderland because regular football can see him play for Italy at Euro 2016.

The striker made the move from Liverpool, having previously turned down this switch in 2014, and was also linked with Fiorentina, Lazio, Bologna and Inter over the summer.

“My target is to achieve the Euros next year, and playing for Sunderland regularly I think I can,” Borini told BBC Newcastle. “We need players in Italy to play every week.

Borini to Inter in 48 hours

Italian media report Liverpool striker Fabio Borini told friends he’ll “sign for Inter within 48 hours.”

The forward has been linked with a return to Serie A for Lazio, Fiorentina or Bologna.

“It’s all done. I will sign for Inter within 48 hours,” Borini told friends according to Sport Mediaset.

He is expected to fly in for a medical on Wednesday.

Inter certainly need another forward, as Stevan Jovetic’s arrival on loan with option to buy from Manchester City is not enough.

Complications for Lazio-Borini

Lazio play the waiting game to convince Liverpool to lower the €7m price for Fabio Borini, but the player may go to Sunderland instead.

The 24-year-old is an object of interest for Biancocelesti President Claudio Lotito, but their initial offer in June was of €3.5m, only half of what the Reds are reportedly asking for now.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the fact that the player's contract is due to expire in January 2016 is prompting Lotito to wait.
