Francesco Totti hangs up his boots with numerous Roma records: most games (736), most goals (307) and most Serie A seasons on target (23).

With Italy and all competition, Totti played 786 games and scored 307 goals.

Totti closes on 619 Serie A appearances, joint second in the all-time charts with Gianluigi Buffon, second only to Paolo Maldini on 647. He played for 47,098 minutes of football – roughly 32 days and 17 hours. He scored 250 goals, runner-up to Silvio Piola’s 290.

Gianluigi Buffon becomes the most successful Serie A player of all time, Roma set a new away record, Napoli improve their own points tally and the most prolific Capocannoniere race since 1949 in Susy Campanale's stats.

Juventus are the first side ever to win the Serie A title six years in a row. The Bianconeri previously had five from 1931-35 and Il Grande Torino from 1943-49 (with break for World War II). In Europe’s top five Leagues, only Olympique Lyonnais have done better with seven from 2001-07.

Only six Juve players won all six titles during this run: Gianluigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli, Claudio Marchisio and Stephan Lichtsteiner. In each of those six campaigns, Juve had the best defensive record in the division.

Daniele De Rossi had never before in his career managed to find the net for three Serie A matches in a row.

Luciano Spalletti’s side have scored at least three goals in six of their last nine Serie A games. This was only Spalletti’s second victory over Juventus, along with three draws and 18 defeats. The other success was 3-2 in the Coppa Italia quarter-final in Turin on January 26, 2006.

Juve have won just one of their last seven competitive visits to Roma, 1-0 in May 2014, along with two 1-1 draws and four losses.

Juventus saw their all-time Serie A record of 33 consecutive home victories come to an end. The last opponent they failed to beat at the Stadium was Frosinone, a 1-1 draw on September 23, 2015. This was only the second time this season that the Bianconeri had gone behind on their own turf, fighting back to beat Udinese in October 2016.

Torino had also ended another record in March 2016, namely Gigi Buffon’s 974 minutes of Serie A football without conceding.

Lazio hadn’t won the Serie A derby since a 3-2 thriller on November 11, 2012, managing three draws and five defeats. The Biancocelesti have lost just one of the last 12 rounds, winning eight.

Keita Balde Diao is the first Aquile player to bag a Derby della Capitale brace since Roberto Mancini in November 1998.

Dusan Basta’s last Serie A goal was also against Roma, albeit for Udinese in March 2014, ending a 79-game drought.

Serie A Week 33: Did You Know?

Most prolific round in decades, Lazio shatter precedents, nine-goal thriller in Florence and 2-2 for lunch in Susy Campanale's stats round-up.

With 48 goals, this is the most prolific Serie A round since the league returned to 20 teams, but the all-time record remains 54, set in 1950-51. Only Juventus kept a clean sheet and Genoa didn’t find the net.

Lazio became the first Serie A side to score five goals in the opening 26 minutes since Juventus v Fiorentina in 1938. The Aquile hadn’t netted five in the first half of a top flight match since April 1997, beating Reggiana 6-1.

The only other time in this century that Lazio scored six in a Serie A home fixture was against Bologna in 2013.

Both editions of the Derby della Madonnina ended 2-2 with last-gasp equalisers this season, but in November it was Ivan Perisic who grabbed a point for Inter. The last nine top flight Milan derbies have been perfectly balanced with two wins each and five stalemates.

The two Milan Derby fixtures provided a total of eight goals, the most prolific season since 10 in 2006-07. This was the 218th Derby di Milano, the 166th in Serie A, but the first all-Chinese edition, as Silvio Berlusconi ended his 31-year ownership of the Rossoneri this week.

Lorenzo Insigne has three braces in his last four Serie A appearances and on 14 goals sets a new personal best. Insigne (10) and Dries Mertens (12) are the most prolific away scorers in the league this season.

Edin Dzeko made history as the first Roma player ever to score 33 competitive goals in one season, beating the 32 from Rodolfo Volk in 1930-31 and Francesco Totti in 2006-07.

Dzeko has 23 Serie A goals and is on track to beat his personal best of 26 for Wolfsburg in 2008-09. Of those 23 goals, 16 were scored in home fixtures.

Empoli suffered a seventh consecutive defeat and have never beaten Roma in the Capital. The Tuscans have failed to score a single goal in the first half of their last seven games.

Juve have scored 12 goals in the opening 15 minutes, more than any other Serie A side this season. Juan Cuadrado has only ever found the net with two headers in Serie A, the other being against Fiorentina.
