La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Inter‘s priority in the summer transfer window will be to sign a new centre forward, while Simone Inzaghi has decided to keep all defenders in 2024-25, including Francesco Acerbi.
Inter are thinking about strengthening the team next season after becoming Serie A champions for the 20th time in history. CEO Beppe Marotta has confirmed that both Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski will join the club in the summer, while no Inter players have handed in transfer requests.
Thursday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, on page four, reports that the Nerazzurri’s priority for the summer will be to sign a ‘top’ centre forward to boost Inzaghi’s options in attack beyond Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez. Bologna‘s Joshua Zirkzee has emerged as a primary transfer target alongside Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson.
Journalist Luca Taidelli also claims that Inzaghi has decided to keep all Inter defenders beyond the summer. There were reports that the Nerazzurri could have split from Francesco Acerbi after the incident with Juan Jesus in March, but the Italy international was cleared of allegations, so he’s not expected to leave.
According to Gazzetta, his compatriot Alessandro Bastoni has attracted interest from Premier League clubs, but the Nerazzurri don’t want to sell him, especially after agreeing to a new contract until 2028.
Nevertheless, Inter remain interested in free agents Mario Hermoso and Nicolas Valentini (Boca) and could slightly alter the defensive department by signing Brazilian goalkeeper Beto from Athletico Paranaense.
