Conte defends Chelsea record

Antonio Conte reveals what he said to Leo Messi after Barcelona beat Chelsea 3-0, defended Alvaro Morata and his work at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were knocked out of the Champions League, 4-1 on aggregate, after a heavy loss at Camp Nou and at the final whistle he whispered in Messi’s ear for some time.

“It was mainly compliments, because we are talking about a player who continues to make the difference in a very clear way. He can change the result and was decisive over the two legs,” Conte told Mediaset Premium.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea were beaten 3-0 by Barcelona, so the draw for the Champions League quarter-finals is ready for Friday with Roma and Juventus.

There are three Italian tacticians in the final eight, as Vincenzo Montella saw Sevilla beat Manchester United at Old Trafford to qualify, while Juventus and Roma are led by Max Allegri and Eusebio Di Francesco respectively.

Conte was hoping to join them, but after a 1-1 first leg draw, Chelsea were swept aside 3-0 at Camp Nou this evening by a Leo Messi brace.

Mourinho guided Inter to two Scudetti titles and the Champions League, as part of a historic Treble, between 2008 and 2010, but the Nerazzurri have gone seven years without any trophies, with Juve winning Serie A every season during that time.
