Verratti: 'I'd earn more away from PSG'

Marco Verratti insists he never asked Paris Saint-Germain to leave for Barcelona and didn’t stay for the money, but took Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s advice.

The Italy international was at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war with Barcelona over the summer, but the Ligue 1 side refused to sell.

“To be honest, I am ambitions and for the first time since I got here, I asked myself whether I should remain,” Verratti told L’Equipe newspaper.

New contract for Belotti?

Andrea Belotti is reportedly on the verge of signing a new and improved contract with Torino, despite interest from Milan, Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG.

Il Gallo has five goals and two assists in eight competitive games this season, but is out for a month with a knee injury.

He only signed his latest contract – complete with €100m release clause valid for non-Italian clubs – in December 2016.

Yet Tuttosport claim he is ready to sign a new deal that would almost double his current salary to €3m per year plus bonuses.

Pellegri 'a young Ibrahimovic'

Genoa’s 16-year-old sensation Pietro Pellegri is “a young Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” said his agent, and “it’s not surprising he has been linked with PSG.”

The teenager scored a remarkable three Serie A goals in his first two appearances, which were against Roma and Lazio.

“I am not in contact with anyone at the moment,” agent Giuseppe Riso told Foot Mercato.

Verratti agent slams PSG chief

Marco Verratti’s long-time agent Donato Di Campli launched another scathing attack on Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al Khelaifi.

The Italy international’s former representative has repeatedly criticised the PSG hierarchy for blocking a potential move to Barcelona this summer.

Mino Raiola is in the process of taking over Verratti's representation from Di Campli.

Even though Verratti has always tried to be even-handed in his public statements and distanced himself from Di Campli’s comments, there was another row today.

Rugani: 'Juve, Roma, Napoli for Scudetto'

Juventus defender Daniele Rugani believes “our rivals for the Scudetto are Napoli and Roma, with Inter and Milan slightly behind.”

The former Empoli defender spoke to Mediaset Premium and Sky Sport Italia this afternoon.

“I am honoured by the respect this club shows for me and I’ll do everything to repay that faith. I know that I am at an important club with many great champions, and over the course of a long and difficult season there will be the need for everyone to contribute.

PSG join Pellegri race?

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined the race to sign Genoa starlet Pietro Pellegri.

According to Il Secolo XIX, PSG have enquired about Pellegri, but the teenager’s desire “is to stay at Genoa for at least two more years.”

The 16-year-old became the first player born in 2001 to score in Serie A at the end of last season and followed up with a brace against Lazio in September.

Marotta: 'Dybala-Juve for life'

Juventus are prepared to “make a big financial sacrifice” to keep Paulo Dybala for life, confirmed Beppe Marotta. “He asked to stay here.”

La Joya has been sensational so far this season, scoring 12 goals in 10 competitive games for Juve.

“The lad is priceless, because we are not a selling club,” director general Marotta told La Stampa newspaper.

Verratti was heavily linked with Barca over the summer but ultimately stayed at PSG, and the Coach that took him to Parc des Princes admitted did not like his fellow Italian’s conduct in putting pressure on his employers.

“I don’t like those things, that kind of behaviour,” the Bayern Munich boss told Le Figaro ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with the French giants.

Matuidi: ‘Better late than never’

Blaise Matuidi is delighted to be at Juventus, saying it was ‘better to move late than never’ after a transfer fell through last year.

The midfielder played 70 minutes of last night’s 4-0 derby win over city rivals Torino and is settling into life with the Old Lady following his summer switch from Paris Saint-Germain.
