Lazio looking at Rose

Lazio are reportedly making a bid for Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose, currently on loan at Newcastle United.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Biancocelesti director Igli Tare has set his sights on Rose as a potential reinforcement for next season.

He plays on the left side of defence, but can also push up into a more advanced role in Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 formation.

It’s suggested Rose would be available for €5.5m, although the €3m per year salary might be an issue.

Lazaro extends Newcastle loan

Inter’s Valentino Lazaro has extended his loan spell at Newcastle United, who have also tied down Udinese target Matty Longstaff for two more months.

Newcastle took Lazaro on loan in January with a €22m option to buy, and the right-sider has made seven appearances since his move to England.

It remains to be seen whether the Austrian’s stay will be made permanent, but in the meantime he has committed his short-term future to the Magpies.

Everton and Newcastle want Kessie

Everton and Newcastle United have reportedly set their sights on Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, but the asking price is at least €25m.

According to Tuttosport, Carlo Ancelotti had already targeted Kessie when he was in charge of Napoli earlier this season and is eager to try again now that he has taken on the Everton job.

Newcastle are also looking to Serie A for several transfer targets, so believe the 23-year-old Ivory Coast international would suit the Premier League.

Newcastle target Roma striker Schick

Newcastle United are emerging as the favourites for Roma striker Patrik Schick after the RB Leipzig option to buy clause expired.

Schick spent this season on loan in Germany at a cost of €3.5m with an option to buy for a further €29m.

Despite 10 goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances so far, RB Leipzig feel they cannot pay the agreed price and are trying to negotiate it down.

The deadline has now passed for the clause, so Roma are free to discuss his future with other clubs too.

Roma push Schick towards Premier League

Julian Nagelsmann confirms RB Leipzig are ‘negotiating’ down the price for Patrik Schick, but Roma could sell him to a Premier League club instead.

The striker joined the Bundesliga club on loan for €3.5m with option to buy for a further €29m, but that deadline has now passed.

“Patrik was a dream player for me, but it all has to be done within reason,” RB Leipzig coach Nagelsmann told Kicker.

Koulibaly too expensive for PSG

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly pulling out of the race for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, as his price-tag remains over €100m.

According to Le Parisien, the Ligue 1 champions have decided he is too expensive as a replacement for Thiago Silva.

This comes after Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli warned the COVID-19 crisis would affect only some transfers, but not others, as Koulibaly’s valuation remains intact.

That is from €100m to €120m for a club outside Italy for the Senegal international centre-back.

Lazaro unconvinced by Newcastle

Valentino Lazaro could still turn down a move to Newcastle United, even if they activate the €22m option to buy from Inter, claim Italian reports.

He made the loan switch in January and his future remains very much up in the air.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Newcastle have not decided whether to take up the €22m option to buy him on a permanent basis.

There is another problem, as the same source suggests Lazaro is unconvinced too and could well turn down the deal, even if the Magpies want him to stay.

Udinese offer for Newcastle's Longstaff

Udinese are in advanced negotiations to sign Matty Longstaff as a free agent from Newcastle United, claims Sky Sports UK.

It’s suggested the 20-year-old already flew out to Italy for talks before the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He is still on an academy contract, so minimum wage for professional football players, but that is due to expire this summer.

Although he has made only 12 appearances for the senior Newcastle squad, he has scored three goals, including one against Manchester United on his Premier League debut.
