Alexis Sanchez is proving why Inter are so eager to purchase him outright from Manchester United, writes Kaustubh Pandey.

The last few years haven’t been the best of Alexis Sanchez’s career. It has given many the impression that he’s past his prime and is far from being the player that he used to be at Arsenal or Barcelona. The move to Manchester United has gone on to become one of the most underwhelming signings in the club’s history. There seemed to be a lack of motivation, and with the money involved, it seemed like a move dictated by greed.

Alexis Sanchez 'frustrated' at Inter

Alexis Sanchez is “frustrated” by his Inter loan spell from Manchester United, claims Chile coach Reinaldo Rueda. “It has been a traumatic year for him.”

It’s practically certain Inter will not try to purchase the 31-year-old outright, as he made only 15 competitive appearances with one goal and three assists.

“It has been a traumatic year for him, really tortuous,” said Rueda in Chile.

Chile CT: 'Vidal has Italy option'

Chile CT Reinaldo Rueda has revealed that Barcelona midfielder ‘has a chance of going back to Italy’. 

Vidal has been heavily linked with Inter for some time, and Rueda hinted the Nerazzurri were still very much keen on the 32-year-old.

“Arturo Vidal’s an outstanding player. He’s shown it in Germany, in Italy and now in Spain,” he told Sport.

“He transmits character and personality, in addition to good technique and physicality. He’s a monster in that sense.

Man Utd fight Inter for Vidal

Manchester United have made a superior offer to Inter for Arturo Vidal, claim reports in Chile, but Barcelona don’t want to sell.

Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire to work with Vidal again following their successful time together at Juventus.

It has been reported for weeks now that Inter are trying to get him on loan with option to buy for a total €15m, whereas Barcelona are holding out for €20m.

Vidal: 'Barcelona being unfair'

Inter target Arturo Vidal has hit out against current side Barcelona over unpaid bonuses. “I find it unfair that my claim on the money isn’t being recognised by the club.”

The former Juventus midfielder is suing the Catalan side over unpaid bonuses, believed to be in the region of €2.4m, although many see this as a ploy to force through a January move to Inter.

Alexis Sanchez 'ahead of schedule'

Inter chief medic Piero Volpi assures Alexis Sanchez “could even be back ahead of schedule” in January after dislocating his ankle.

The Manchester United-owned forward suffered the serious injury, with added tendon damage, during international duty with Chile last month.

He was initially given a prognosis of around three months to make a full recovery.

Inter target Vidal: 'I'm not happy'

Inter target Arturo Vidal is flirting with Nerazzurri by stating that Antonio Conte “made me one of the best” and admits he is “not happy” at Barcelona.

Injury problems at San Siro has given Conte headache at times this season and the club is rumoured to be ready to dive into the January transfer market, linking them to several players across the continent – one of them being Vidal.

The Chilean midfielder admits he’s got good memories from his time working under the new Inter boss when they were both at Juventus.

Bologna lose Medel for a month

Bologna will be without midfielder Gary Medel for at least a month after he returned from international duty with a thigh strain.

The Chile international had been playing a 0-0 draw with Colombia at the weekend when he limped off.

He returned to Italy for tests and a grade I lesion has now been confirmed in the right bicep muscle.

This means Medel will be out action for approximately a month.

He turned 32 in August and has made six Serie A appearances since his late move from Fenerbahce to Bologna,

Alexis Sanchez ankle injury confirmed

Inter confirmed Alexis Sanchez, on loan from Manchester United, has dislocated his left ankle with tendon damage and may well require surgery.

The forward suffered the injury during international duty with Chile against Colombia, as a result of Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado’s tackle.

“Alexis Sanchez underwent medical tests earlier this morning at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano. Results revealed a joint dislocation in his left ankle which has caused damage to the peroneus longus tendon,” read a club statement.
