Sanchez has missed eight out of 12 penalties

Inter forward Alexis Sanchez’s penalty miss against Sampdoria was his eighth in 12 attempts between club and national teams.

The Chilean missed a penalty when Inter’s run of eight wins was stopped by the Blucerchiati on Wednesday.

Samp goalkeeper Emil Audero started the match with a decisive penalty save against Sanchez, who stepped up in the absence of Romelu Lukaku.

Goal.com highlighted the efforts from the spot during his career, as Sanchez has 12 attempts in total but has only converted four of them.

Report: Spalletti turns down Chile

According to reports in Italy, Luciano Spalletti has turned down an offer from the Chilean Federation and won’t accept a new job before his contract with Inter expires in June.

The former Roma and Inter coach is reported to be in talks to replace Colombia bound Reinaldo Rueda, becoming the new head coach of Chile national team.

According to FcInternews, however, the Italian tactician has turned down the offer as he wants to see-off his contract with the Nerazzurri who sacked him in summer 2019 to hire Antonio Conte.

Report: Spalletti in talks with Chile

Former Roma and Inter coach Luciano Spalletti has reportedly entered talks with Chile and could replace Colombia bound Reinaldo Rueda.

Alairelibre.cl reports the federation has contacted Spalletti, who is interested in the job, but the outlet claims there are two obstacles to overcome.

A linguistic and an economic issue has been underlined, as Spalletti doesn’t speak Spanish and his salary can’t be matched by the Chilean federation.

Inter: Sanchez targets Crotone match

Inter forward Alexis Sanchez will reportedly not play again in 2020, as the Chilean aims to be back against Crotone on January 3.

The Nerazzurri forward follows a programme made by the medical staff and has to stay in the gym and the pool for the time being.

Rueda apologizes with Inter

Chile boss Reinaldo Rueda has apologized with Inter after a row erupted over Alexis Sanchez’s fitness last week.

“With all due respect for my European colleagues, I would like them to respect us the same way we do with them. I would’ve appreciated more respect before they decided to play Alexis for 45 minutes and then for another 90,” Rueda said after Sanchez picked up an injury while on international duty.

Vidal brace on Lapadula debut

Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal scored a brace in Chile’s 2-0 victory against Peru, on the day Gianluca Lapadula made his debut.

Vidal was the undoubted star of the show in last night’s 2022 World Cup qualifier in Santiago de Chile.

He opened the scoring with an absolute screamer from a good 30 metres out into the far top corner, which left the goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

Vidal then added a second just before half-time.
