Italy invited to US anti-World Cup?

Reports in America suggest the U.S. Soccer Federation will invite Italy, the Netherlands, Ghana and Chile for a pre-World Cup tournament.

These are all massive nations who are accustomed to taking part in the biggest competition in international football, but have failed to qualify for 2018 in Russia.

ESPN claim sources from the U.S. Soccer Federation and Soccer United Marketing confirmed the existence of plans for a series of friendlies on American soil.

Inter could get Vidal in January

Arturo Vidal could be heading to Inter in January after German reports of more disciplinary problems at Bayern Munich.

The Chile international’s hard-partying pays have often been cause for concern and Bild reported on a new incident in a nightclub after the 4-0 win over Mainz.

The owner of the club insisted Vidal was not involved, as glasses and bottles were smashed by “other clients that had nothing to do with him.”

Pinilla set for Chile homecoming

Mauricio Pinilla is on the verge of re-joining Universidad de Chile as the striker prepares to have his Genoa terminated.

Pinilla only returned to Genoa at the start of the year, but Gianluca Di Marzio’s website claims his second adventure at Marassi is already over.

That is because the 33-year-old is in the process of rescinding the deal that ties him to the Rossoblu, ahead of a move back to his first club.

Pinilla has spent the bulk of his colourful career in Italy with the likes of Inter, Palermo, Atalanta and Cagliari, as well as Genoa.

Medel heading back to Boca?

Gary Medel, who was sent off for Chile in today’s friendly against Romania, could leave Inter for a return to Boca Juniors.

The 29-year-old can play as a centre-back or midfielder, but does not appear to be in the plans of new Nerazzurri Coach Luciano Spalletti.

His frustration showed through this evening on international duty, as he was shown a straight red card during Chile’s 3-2 friendly defeat to Romania.

The game was only 33 minutes in when Medel stuck up a leg to kick an opponent who had already beaten him to the ball.
