Muriel: ‘Long break hindered Samp’

Luis Muriel believes a prolonged half-time break hurt Sampdoria in their dramatic defeat to Roma.

The Colombian forward cancelled out Mohamed Salah’s early goal to level the score at 1-1, before Fabio Quagliarella gave the Blucerchiati a half-time lead.

However, the start of the second period was delayed after a severe hailstorm caused flooding on the Stadio Olimpico pitch, meaning the interval lasted a total of 80 minutes.
