Marotta: ‘No Alex Sandro talks’

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta says there’s “interest from big clubs” in Alex Sandro but “no negotiations”.

The Brazilian full-back has been heavily linked with Chelsea since the summer, and there have been rumours the English club will make a bid this month.

“Juventus’ policy is that if a player asks to leave, we won’t hold him back,” Marotta reiterated, speaking to RAI in an interview which will be broadcast in full this evening.

Gattuso: ‘Believe in Champions League’

Gennaro Gattuso warns there are “no easy games” for Milan, but declares “we must even believe in the Champions League”.

The Rossoneri were aiming for at least fourth place this season, but Vincenzo Montella was sacked after a poor start.

Gattuso replaced him in the hot seat, and they go into tomorrow’s Crotone game 14 points adrift of fourth-placed Roma.

“There are no easy matches for us,” the Coach cautioned in his pre-match Press conference.

Agent: ’Koulibaly wants it all’

Kalidou Koulibaly’s agent insists the defender “wants to win everything”, despite claims Napoli are focusing solely on the Scudetto.

The Partenopei have been knocked out of both the Champions League and the Coppa Italia, but are top of Serie A at the halfway point.

“Are they focused solely on the league?” Bruno Satin considered, speaking on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

Alisson: ‘I’d have played well last year…’

Roma goalkeeper Alisson says “I’d have played well, even right away” after being backup to Wojciech Szczesny last season.

The Brazilian has become the Giallorossi’s number 1, and Eusebio Di Francesco’s side have the best defensive record in Serie A so far this season.

“Taking stock it [2017] was a very positive year for me at Roma and with the national team,” Alisson said in a Q&A on Facebook.

Pochettino: ‘Juventus will be a battle’

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino expects “a battle” against Juventus in the Champions League Last 16.

The English side will face the Bianconeri next month, and their manager has roots in Italy, and Piedmont specifically.

“I thought: ‘finally, I get to see the land of my origins’,” Pochettino told Gazzetta dello Sport of his reaction to the draw.

Buffon: ‘I’d play Cardiff again’

Gianluigi Buffon wouldn’t replay Italy-Sweden if he could, but would go back and play Juventus’ Champions League final defeat in Cardiff again.

The goalkeeper gave a long interview to Gazzetta dello Sport, and he was asked which of the recent disappointments he’d play again.

“I wouldn’t repeat Italy-Sweden,” Buffon insisted.

“We didn’t fail in spirit, attitude or unity, but we revealed some limitations.

Buffon hails Harry Kane

Gianluigi Buffon has his eye on the Champions League, but to get there Juventus must beat Tottenham and Harry Kane, “one of the best strikers in Europe.”

The Juventus and Italy goalkeeper spoke to The Daily Mirror newspaper in England as he prepares to turn 40 next month and singled out Spurs hitman Kane.

Koulibaly: ‘Not just Juve for Scudetto’

Happy Birthday AC Milan!

On this day in 1899, Italy's most successful European side, AC Milan, was founded.

The club was created by two English expats, Alfred Edwards and Herbert Kilpin, using the English name for the city rather than the Italian, Milano.

Kilpin was the club's first captain and gave the Rossoneri their famous red and black stripes "to strike fear into our opponents".

Milan won three league titles in the early years of the club, including back-to-back triumphs in 1906 and 1907.
