Player ratings: Feyenoord 2-1 Napoli

Napoli were eliminated from the Champions League thanks to Shakhtar Donetsk’s win, but the Partenopei couldn’t even hold up their end of the bargain.

Maurizio Sarri’s side had to win and hope that Manchester City won in Kharkiv, but they ultimately fell to a 2-1 defeat, with the Ukrainians winning 2-1 in the other match.

With Napoli now dropping into the Europa League, Football Italia rates the players.

Szczesny: ‘Beat Inter and Roma!’

Wojciech Szczesny declares “we have to win against both Inter and Roma” because “we’re Juventus”.

The Bianconeri secured their place in the Last 16 of the Champions League last night, and beat Napoli 1-0 at the San Paolo on Friday.

That was just the start of what is a crucial December for the champions though, with Inter to come on Saturday night and Roma on December 23.

City to rotate with Shakhtar

Manchester City are expected to rotate heavily away at Shakhtar Donetsk, in a match Napoli need them to win.

The English side have already won their Champions League group, and Shakhtar will go through in second if they avoid defeat tonight.

Napoli must beat Feyenoord at De Kuip and hope City win in Eastern Europe, but The Times reports the Premier League leaders will make several changes.

David Silva is out with injury, and with the derby against Manchester United on Sunday, Pep Guardiola is likely to name a rotated first XI.
