Inter defender Francesco Acerbi is set to maintain his stance that he did not say anything racist to Napoli’s Juan Jesus when he is heard by FIGC Prosecutors on Friday, according to multiple reports in Italy.

The Nerazzurri centre-back is set to meet with FIGC Prosecutor Giuseppe Chine as part of an FIGC investigation into alleged racist remarks made towards Juan Jesus during an incident in Inter’s 1-1 draw with Napoli in Serie A last weekend.

Acerbi will train as usual at Inter’s base in Appiano Gentile on Friday morning, and will be heard remotely by the FIGC shortly afterwards. He will be accompanied by club lawyers.

Juan Jesus was heard by the authorities on Thursday, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport.

Both outlets claim that Acerbi will tell the prosecutors that he did not say anything of a racist nature towards Juan Jesus last weekend.

Juan Jesus initially ‘forgave’ Acerbi for his remarks, while the Inter defender has maintained that he had no degrading, disparaging or racist intent.

If found guilty by the FIGC, Acerbi could face a suspension of up to 10 matches, according to Friday morning’s reports.

The Judge’s verdict in the Acerbi-Juan Jesus case is expected by next week.
