Only in Serie A: Fiorentina touchline brawl

Few can forget the moment when Fiorentina coach Delio Rossi physically attacked his player Adem Ljajic in the dugout, as Livio Caferoglu describes a unique clash.

One of the biggest criticisms of modern-day football is player power, the notion of how footballers seem to get their own way, even it comes at the expense of their coach. Delio Rossi suffered that fate in May 2012, when he was sacked by Fiorentina, but not before assaulting one of his own players in full view of everyone during a match.

Stellone loses his job after Palermo could only draw 1-1 at home to bottom side Padova, a result that left them three points off the top two with only four rounds remaining.

The former Napoli striker led the Sicilians to last season’s Serie B playoff Final, where they lost to Frosinone over two legs, and was only reinstated in September.
