Italians in U21 UEFA All-Stars

There are four Italians in the UEFA Under-21 Championship All-Star squad, including Marco Verratti and Fabio Borini.

The UEFA technical team picked the players from the recent tournament in Israel, in which Spain beat Italy 4-2 in the Final.

UEFA introduce tougher racism sanctions

UEFA's Executive Committee has approved stricter sanctions against racial abuse at their latest meeting.

The governing body have confirmed today that as of June 1, spectators found guilty of racist chanting will see their home stadium partially closed for a first time offence, and a full stadium closure for a second offence – coupled with a €50,000 fine.

Collina: Racism rules need to change

UEFA Head of Referees Pierluigi Collina believes that players who walk off the pitch following racial abuse should not be punished.

Under current rules, those who exit the field of play of their own accord are not allowed to re-enter.

UEFA to take tougher stand on racism

UEFA have announced that they will introduce tougher sanctions on players and clubs found guilty of racism.

The governing body of European football have revealed today that any player found guilty of racial abuse will receive a 10-match ban, whilst teams will see their stadiums partially closed, for a first time offence, and fully closed for a second offence.
